Patio Project 2012

It was incredibly beautiful this weekend. I mean really…it was amazing! What should you do in warm weather while waiting to hear about a job offer? Spend money, duh!

So, we decided it was time to say goodbye to our old rained out camp chairs and look for new furniture for our patio balcony! I decided to plant some herbs and a tomato plant too. We’ll see how I do with apartment patio gardening (Hopefully better than my previous attempts at backyard gardening!)

Here’s what the finished product looks like:

We settled on these chairs from Bed, Bath and Beyond as well as this cute table.

Notice those cute little herb gardens in the background? I found those at BigLots also…I wanted to identify what was planted but I had nothing cute and/or crafty. Not even popsicle sticks! Well, since I don’t have kids, I guess I am happy to say I do not have a collection of popsicle sticks lying around. This project, however, does look like a child did it!

I scoured the house for whatever I could find. I found that I did have straws (because sometimes drinks are more fun with a straw, ya’ll) and I also had plenty of pretty thank you cards. Why? Because I continually buy them in hopes of actually using them. I also found a hole punch and a label maker…because I am truly, truly an office supply geek! SO, I got my geek on garden-style and made these little guys. I’m sure these straws are leaking some sort of carcinogenic horror…but aren’t they cute:

How every successful project should end:

Even kitty got to come outside for a short love session on the patio.

Well, that was my weekend, how was yours? I hope it was filled with as much sun and smiles as mine was!
